Former Vice President and 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has officially declared his intention to contest for Nigeria’s presidency in 2027. Atiku made this known through his long-time associate and spokesperson, Tunde Olusunle, reaffirming his commitment to what he described as the urgent task of “rescuing Nigeria from decline.” His statement followed speculation that he might withdraw from future contests after comments credited to Prof. Ola Olateju of Achievers University suggested he had shifted focus from presidential ambition to broader national development.
