Liverpool’s Jeremie Frimpong Out with Hamstring Injury
Liverpool have been dealt an early blow in their Premier League campaign as new right-back Jeremie Frimpong has been ruled out until after the September international break with a hamstring issue. The £29.5m summer signing from Bayer Leverkusen was forced off during his debut against Bournemouth, which the Reds won 4-2. Frimpong, 24, was substituted in the first half of Liverpool’s Premier League opener at Anfield. Head coach Arne Slot revealed that the decision was made on medical advice after staff noticed discomfort in the Netherlands international’s hamstring. “It had nothing to do with how he played, but we felt he had an issue with his hamstring – and by we, I mean the medical staff.
