Former Defence Spokesperson Rabe Abubakar, Wife Abducted in Katsina

Major General Rabe Abubakar (rtd), former Director of Defence Information and prominent military spokesperson, along with his wife, have been abducted by suspected armed bandits in Katsina State, security sources confirm. Suspected armed bandits ambushed the retired senior military officer and his wife on Saturday morning while they were travelling through Matazu Local Government Area along a major route in Katsina. The couple was intercepted in their red Peugeot 406 (also reported as Peugeot 504) saloon car and whisked away to an unknown destination. The driver of the vehicle managed to escape despite sustaining a gunshot wound during the attack and is currently receiving medical attention.
