Onitsha apprentice remanded for killing boss, stealing N8m
A 21 year old apprentice, Chiemerie Anieke, has been remanded in a correctional facility for allegedly killing his employer, Ikechukwu Nwite, and stealing his money in Onitsha, Anambra State. His alleged accomplice, Godwin Nnabuike Nwokporo, was also remanded over the crime and the movement of the stolen funds. Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga said operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department arraigned the two suspects on March 18, 2026. According to him, Anieke allegedly hit his boss on the head with a pestle, leading to his death, and has also been linked to an attack on Ogechukwu Nwite in Fegge, Onitsha. Ikenga said the pair were arraigned before a High Court in Onitsha.
