APC targets rancour free primaries with revised timetable

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a revised timetable for its primaries and says it is working towards rancour free exercises across the states ahead of the next general election. The move followed a major consultation meeting at the Presidential Villa between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC governors, where they reviewed preparations for the party’s candidate selection process. From tomorrow, the party’s national secretariat and state offices are expected to come alive with the commencement of sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to all eligible party members. Six more Reps members dump NNPP, PDP for ADC, APC

Six additional members of the House of Representatives on Wednesday defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC). Those leaving the NNPP for the ADC are Sani Adamu Wakil (Minjibir/Ungogo, Kano), Umar Mukthar Zakari (Tarauni, Kano), Yusuf Umar Datti (Kura/Madobi/Garun Mallam, Kano) and Abdulhakeem Kamilo Ado (Wudil/Garko, Kano). Emeka Chinedu Martin (Ahiazu/Ezinihitte/Mbaise, Imo) and Kabiru Ahmadu Maipalace (Gusau/Tsafe, Zamfara) defected from the PDP to the APC. The latest defections raise the ADC’s strength in the Green Chamber to about 24 lawmakers, while the APC now has about 282 members. Kano State governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has declared that he plans to seek a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress rather than the New Nigeria Peoples Party. 12 Reps dump opposition for APC, ADC ahead of 2027 polls

Twelve members of the House of Representatives have defected from their parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress and the African Democratic Congress as political realignments intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections. Adamawa Assembly rocked by mass PDP defections
