Tinubu salutes Bisi Akande’s national legacy at 87
President Bola Tinubu has paid glowing tribute to elder statesman Chief Bisi Akande on his 87th birthday, describing him as a pillar of Nigeria’s democracy and a builder of modern party politics. In a special message, Tinubu praised the former Osun State governor and pioneer National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for his life of service, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to progressive ideals. Tinubu recalled Akande’s journey from his early career as an accountant with British Petroleum to key roles in public service, including Secretary to the Government and Deputy Governor of old Oyo State before becoming governor of Osun between 1999 and 2003.
