BREAKING: Police foil deadly bomb attack in Akure, arrest six suspects

The Ondo State Police Command says its operatives have foiled a planned bomb attack in Akure, the state capital, and arrested six suspects in connection with the plot. Commissioner of Police Lawal Adebowale told reporters in Akure that materials suspected to be components of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered from the suspects. He described the operation as a “major breakthrough” for the command. Those arrested were identified as Adekunle Prosper (56), Ojo Olumide (39), Tope Kolawole (40), Ahmed Salihu (40), Bolaji Adebowale (46) and a female suspect, Gbadebo Abidemi (43). Gunmen Abduct Health Workers In Akure, Police Rescue Victims

Gunmen have attacked a government health facility in the Oke Ijebu area of Akure, Ondo State, and abducted health workers on duty. The incident happened around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday when the armed men stormed the health centre opposite Mega School. Witnesses said the attackers arrived in a large bus, forced their way into the facility, and overpowered those present. They gathered the staff members on night duty, including some interns, and took about six health workers away to an unknown location. Motorcyclist Killed by Truck in Ondo Road Accident

A motorcyclist was crushed to death by a truck on Wednesday morning along Oda Road in Akure, the Ondo State capital. According to an eyewitness, the accident occurred when a speeding truck lost control and rammed into the motorcycle. The victim, who was returning home after dropping his children off at school, died instantly at the scene. The witness described the incident as a "very sad scene." The body of the deceased has been taken to a mortuary, while the truck driver reportedly fled the scene. Officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps and the State Police Command stated they had not yet been officially briefed on the incident.
