The Nigerian Air Force has killed more than 40 terrorists in air operations at Azir and Musarram areas of Borno State. Sowore condemns US airstrikes on Nigerian soil

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has strongly criticised the recent United States military strikes on Nigerian soil. He described the attacks as a violation of Nigeria’s sovereignty and a dangerous step for the country. Sowore argued that no foreign country has the right to launch military operations inside Nigeria under any guise. He said allowing such actions sends a signal that Nigeria cannot protect itself and is willing to hand over its security to external powers. He also faulted the Nigerian government for what he called weakness and complicity. According to him, the authorities should have openly rejected the US airstrikes instead of agreeing to or tolerating them. Sowore warned that foreign military involvement rarely solves internal security problems.
