Fed Govt Tightens Airport Security With New Joint Screening System
The Federal Government has introduced a one stop joint screening system at Nigerian airports to strengthen security and reduce delays for travellers. The directive comes through the Office of the National Security Adviser and targets both international and domestic terminals. Under the new system, security checks by different agencies will be merged into a single, coordinated screening point. Immigration, customs, aviation security, and other security agencies will now work together at one checkpoint instead of stopping passengers multiple times. Officials say the goal is to close security gaps, curb touting, and make passenger movement more efficient.
