NCAA Suspends Debt Enforcement Against Domestic Airlines
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has temporarily suspended enforcement of its "No Pay, No Service" directive against domestic airline operators with outstanding debts. The decision follows the NCAA's earlier move on May 24, 2026, when it placed 11 domestic airline operators on a "no-pay-no-service" list amid a debt burden crisis. The suspended airlines include Air Peace, Ibom Air, Arik Air, Caverton Helicopters, and others who owed the regulator significant amounts. The NCAA had demanded payment of outstanding regulatory fees and charges before allowing these carriers to continue operations. However, the authority has now granted the airlines temporary reprieve to allow them time to restructure their debt payments.
