US Woman Guilty in UK Murder Conspiracy
A US woman who flew to Britain as a hired killer has been found guilty of conspiracy to murder after attempting to shoot a man at point-blank range in Birmingham in 2019. Aimee Betro, from West Allis, Wisconsin, travelled to the UK as part of a plot to attack a British family involved in a long-running feud. She went on the run for nearly five years before being arrested and tried. Gun Jammed During Attack Jurors at Birmingham Crown Court heard that Betro concealed her identity with a niqab before ambushing her target, Sikander Ali, outside his home on Measham Grove, Yardley. She pointed a self-loading pistol at him, but the weapon jammed, allowing him to escape unharmed.
