Super Falcons drop to 37th but stay top in Africa

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have slipped one place to 37th in the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking but remain the highest ranked team in Africa. The ranking, released on Thursday, reflects movements on the global table after the last international window.​ The Super Falcons were previously 36th in the world before dropping to 37th, ending a run of several months in that position. Despite the slight fall, they still lead the African standings ahead of South Africa, Ghana, Zambia and Morocco, who complete the continent’s top five teams.​ Reports link the dip in ranking partly to the team’s inactivity during the most recent FIFA women’s international break.
