MASSOB Hails Compliance With Biafra Day Sit-at-Home

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has praised the high compliance with the sit-at-home order declared across the South-East to mark Biafra Remembrance Day on May 30. MASSOB said residents of Biafra land overwhelmingly obeyed the directive, which saw towns, villages, and cities in the South-East come to a complete standstill as people stayed indoors in honour of fallen Biafra heroes and heroines of the 1967–1970 civil war. The group, which earlier declared May 30, 2026, as a sit-at-home exercise in the spirit of “true Biafranism and brotherhood among Biafra agitators and Biafrans in general,” described the peaceful compliance as a demonstration of unity and respect for the Biafra struggle. Man dies after falling from moving train in Abia

A yet-to-be-identified man has died after falling from a moving train at Uratta in Aba, Abia State, along the Enugu–Port Harcourt railway corridor. Witnesses said the victim fell from the train while it was in motion and landed by the track, where he died before help could reach him.​ The incident involved a Nigerian Railway Corporation passenger service running between Aba and Port Harcourt. Passengers and bystanders were thrown into panic as the train continued its journey after the fall. Local residents alerted the police and other emergency responders, who arrived to secure the scene and begin preliminary investigations.
