Chebet to miss 2026 season for maternity break
Kenyan distance star Beatrice Chebet, a double Olympic champion over 5,000m and 10,000m at the 2024 Paris Games, will sit out the entire 2026 season to take a maternity break. Her agent confirmed that the 25 year old world record holder in both events is expecting her first child and has chosen to focus on motherhood after two intense and highly successful seasons on the track and cross country circuit.
