Man Utd Make Third Bid for Mbeumo from Brentford

Manchester United have tabled their third offer to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford—a £65 million upfront fee plus £5 million in add-ons, which meets Brentford’s £70 million valuation and is being seriously considered. This comes after previous bids of £55m and £62.5m were turned down. Why This Bid Matters Increased urgency: United aim to seal the deal before departing for their U.S. pre-season tour, giving time for Mbeumo to integrate. Fit for the team: After only scoring 44 Premier League goals last season, the club needs reinforcements. With Matheus Cunha already signed, Mbeumo would add firepower and form. Mbeumo’s Performance The 25-year-old Cameroonian forward scored 20 league goals last season—making him Brentford’s top scorer. Overall, he has 70 goals and 51 assists in 242 appearances. Multiple reports confirm his strong desire to join United, and he's grown "frustrated" by lengthy negotiations. Negotiation Dynamics […]

Liverpool Close in on Ekitike in £70m‑Plus Deal

Liverpool are in advanced talks to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for a fee that exceeds £70 million. The deal is expected to close within days. Liverpool’s offer is reported to potentially land in the £75–80 million range after Newcastle’s initial £70m proposal was turned down. Why Ekitike? The 23-year-old French striker impressed vastly in his first full Bundesliga season, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists, helping Frankfurt qualify for the Champions League. He thrives in a two-striker system and has struck a preference for joining Liverpool over Newcastle or Manchester United. What About Isak? Liverpool had earlier pursued Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, but the Magpies reaffirmed his non-transfer status, reportedly valuing him at around £150 million—too high a hurdle for now. With Isak remaining unavailable, Ekitike became Liverpool’s top alternative. Deal Dynamics and Valuation Newcastle reportedly made a […]

NDC Accused of Seizing Lands & Mass Dismissals

Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, MP for Assin South and Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, has laid out serious allegations against the ruling NDC. He accuses them of illegally seizing state lands and mass firing public sector workers—acts he warns erode public trust and fuel widespread discontent. Alleged State Land Grabs Former Defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul previously claimed that the NDC “has sold more state lands to private individuals than the NPP,” suggesting widespread cronyism and irregular transactions during past administration periods—all tied to the party’s entrenched practices. Fordjour builds on that narrative, warning that land sequestration under NDC rule isn’t a thing of the past—it’s continuing with impunity. Though he hasn't named specific sites, his broader charge positions the party at the center of a legacy of state land misuse. Mass Terminations at Play Alongside land grievances, […]
