Osimhen outburst mars Nigeria’s AFCON win

Victor Osimhen’s emotional outburst overshadowed an otherwise emphatic night for Nigeria as the Super Eagles defeated Mozambique 4-0 to secure a place in the Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals on Monday. The Round of 16 encounter, played at the Complexe Sportif de Fès, was largely one-sided, with Nigeria dominant from the opening exchanges. However, the spotlight shifted in the second half when Osimhen became involved in a heated exchange with teammate Ademola Lookman. The incident occurred in the 63rd minute with Nigeria already leading 3-0 and Osimhen on a hat-trick. Frustrated after not receiving a pass, the Galatasaray striker openly confronted Lookman and left-back Bruno Onyemaechi. The argument escalated quickly, prompting captain Wilfred Ndidi to step in, while Mozambique defender Reinildo Mandava and Nigeria’s Calvin Bassey also intervened to calm the situation. Moments later, Osimhen asked to be substituted and […]

Onyemaechi’s possible Trabzonspor switch gathers pace

Super Eagles left back Bruno Onyemaechi is attracting strong interest from Turkish giants Trabzonspor, raising the prospect of another Nigerian international moving to the Turkish Super Lig. Turkish transfer insider Ekrem Konur reports that Trabzonspor are ready to open talks with Olympiacos to assess the terms of a deal for the 26 year old defender. Any formal negotiations are expected to intensify after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where Onyemaechi is currently on duty with Nigeria. The left back has struggled for regular minutes at Olympiacos since joining from Portuguese side Boavista for about €2.5 million in January 2025, making a potential move to Trabzonspor an opportunity for more consistent game time. Trabzonspor already have Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu leading their attack, with the forward enjoying an excellent season and scoring 11 league goals so far, one […]

The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when Iwobi slipped Adams through on the left and the forward squared for Lookman to finish clinically for his third goal of the tournament. Five minutes later, the Super Eagles doubled their lead as another Iwobi pass released Lookman, whose driven cross took a slight deflection and allowed Osimhen to […]

Luke Littler cements his dominance with second world title

Luke Littler did not simply defend his world title this year — he underlined his dominance. If last season was about proving he belonged at the top, the 18-year-old’s latest World Championship run was about showing just how far ahead he already is. From the opening rounds to the final dart, Littler controlled the tournament with remarkable authority, dropping only four sets in total and rarely appearing under genuine pressure. His emphatic victory over Gian van Veen in the final was the perfect conclusion. Calm, precise and ruthless, Littler produced a performance that made elite-level darts look effortless. Any suggestion of vulnerability quickly disappeared as he delivered when it mattered most. Asked repeatedly whether he felt unstoppable, Littler remained characteristically measured. “At times, I am unstoppable,” was as far as he would go. Yet the numbers speak loudly: two world […]
