Toke Makinwa Says Men Are The Real Gold Diggers
Media personality Toke Makinwa has challenged the long standing stereotype that women are the main gold diggers in relationships. She argued that, in reality, many men are the bigger gold diggers because they actively seek to marry into wealthy families. Speaking on her podcast with Tacha, Makinwa criticised how society frequently attacks women who marry rich men. She said the same energy is rarely directed at men who pursue financially comfortable partners or families. Makinwa noted that many men deliberately target women from affluent backgrounds but do not face the same level of stigma. According to her, these men marry into generational wealth openly and “without shame”, yet conversations about gold digging focus almost only on women.
