Alors que la sélection sénégalaise présente actuellement son trophée à sa diaspora au Stade de France, l’idée d’un retour de celui-ci au Maroc ne semble pas envisagée par les responsables. « Cela ne nous vient même pas à l’esprit », a affirmé Abdoulaye Sow, balayant toute possibilité de se conformer à cette décision.
La Fédération sénégalaise de football évoque par ailleurs des circonstances jugées confuses autour de la décision prise par l’instance dirigeante du football africain. Elle promet d’apporter des éclaircissements détaillés sur les conditions ayant conduit à cette situation.
