NLE Choppa Announces Engagement to Erica Ravén

Article arrow_drop_down

NLE Choppa has announced his engagement to Erica Ravén, marking a major personal milestone for the Memphis rapper as the year draws to a close.

The news was shared during the holiday season through a brief Instagram post. In a series of photos, NLE Choppa is seen kneeling as he presents a diamond engagement ring, capturing Ravén’s visible surprise. Another image shows her proudly displaying the ring, confirming her acceptance.

The rapper kept his caption short and direct, writing only, “Now That’s Gangsta.” Shortly after posting, he cleared the rest of his Instagram feed, further drawing attention to the announcement.

The engagement quickly sparked reactions across social media, with fans and fellow artists offering congratulations. Choppa has not yet shared additional details about the proposal or wedding plans, choosing instead to let the images speak for themselves.

Public speculation about the couple’s relationship began only a few months ago. In October, both shared affectionate posts online, including photos together that fueled rumors of a romance. Earlier, Choppa had reposted an Instagram Story from Ravén showing the two kissing, though neither addressed the attention at the time.

This personal announcement comes after a period of heightened media attention around Choppa’s professional life. In recent months, he was involved in a public dispute with fellow rapper NBA YoungBoy, releasing tracks that touched on themes of responsibility and influence in hip-hop. That exchange briefly escalated into tension involving associates in Houston, but no further incidents have since been reported.

With the engagement news, NLE Choppa appears to be closing the year on a more personal and celebratory note.

Missing Oscar found after airport security incident

An Academy Award that went missing after being checked at an airport in New York has been located, according to Lufthansa. Filmmaker Pavel Talankin said he was carrying the Oscar in his hand luggage while travelling from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Germany when security officers stopped him. Authorities reportedly insisted the statuette could pose a security risk and required it to be placed in checked baggage. However, upon arrival in Germany, the award—won for the documentary Mr Nobody Against Putin—was missing. Lufthansa later confirmed that the statuette had been found in Frankfurt and is now secure. The airline said it is working directly with Talankin to return the item as quickly as possible, while also launching an internal review into how the situation occurred. It added that it had apologised for the inconvenience. The incident caused concern among […]

Mladić seeks release over failing health

Lawyers for Ratko Mladić are awaiting a ruling from a United Nations court on a request to release him on medical grounds. The 84-year-old former Bosnian Serb commander is currently serving a life sentence in The Hague. Mladić was convicted in 2017 of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, a verdict upheld on appeal in 2021. Once dubbed the “Butcher of Bosnia,” he remains one of the most prominent figures linked to atrocities during the Balkan wars. His legal team argues that his health has significantly deteriorated. According to their submission, he has been largely bedridden or reliant on a wheelchair and is believed to have suffered a stroke that has severely affected his ability to speak. Medical assessments cited by the defence describe his condition as critical, with a high risk of imminent death. They are requesting provisional […]

Onscreen kissing is weird, unpleasant – Saga Adeoluwa

Nollywood actor and reality TV star Saga Adeoluwa says onscreen kissing is weird and unpleasant and that many viewers are wrong to think actors enjoy it. He says most performers only do such scenes because they are required to tell the story properly, not because they find them exciting. Saga explains that kissing on set is uncomfortable because there is no real intimacy and the exchange of saliva makes it awkward. He adds that the presence of cameras, crew and other actors watching also makes the experience far from romantic. Despite appearing in several romantic movies, Saga says he cannot remember a single onscreen kiss he truly enjoyed. For him, intimate scenes are some of the most challenging parts of acting in love stories. He notes that before shooting any kissing scene, he tries to have a clear discussion with […]
