Tinubu says new tax laws will boost prosperity

Fire guts 10 shops at Oshodi Arena market

A fire on Tuesday evening destroyed about 10 shops at the popular Arena Market in Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos State. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the incident in a statement by its Controller General, Margaret Adeseye.​ The agency said it received a distress call at about 5:50 p.m. and deployed firefighting units immediately. Responders arrived at the scene within five minutes, at around 5:55 p.m.​ Adeseye explained that the fire affected a section of the market made up of five 40 foot container shops arranged in two rows, bringing the total number of damaged shops to 10. Joshua family mourns deadly Sagamu crash

The family of heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua says it is deeply saddened by the fatal road crash that killed two of his close friends on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway. Tinubu insists new tax laws start January 1

Court remands ex-AGF Malami, son, co-defendant in Kuje prison over multibillion-naira fraud

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the remand of former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami (SAN), his son Abdulaziz Malami and a co-defendant, Asabe Bashir, in custody over an alleged multibillion-naira money laundering case. Justice Emeka Nwite directed that Malami and his son be held at Kuje Correctional Centre while Bashir is to be kept at Suleja Correctional Centre, pending the hearing of their bail applications.​ The defendants were earlier arraigned by the EFCC on a 16-count charge bordering on alleged money laundering, unlawful acquisition of assets and conspiracy, to which they all pleaded not guilty. Ex-AGF Malami, son arraigned on N8.7bn money laundering charges, plead not guilty

Former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami (SAN) and his son have been arraigned by the EFCC on 16 counts of alleged money laundering running into about N8.7bn, with both pleading not guilty before the Federal High Court in Abuja. Reps minority demands halt to new tax laws amid alteration probe

The minority caucus of the House of Representatives has demanded suspension of four tax reform Acts until investigations into alleged alterations are complete.
