NNPP insists no link between Kwankwaso and extremists

The New Nigeria Peoples Party has rejected moves in the United States to sanction its national leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, insisting there is no evidence tying him to any extremist organisation. NNPP campaign secretary Folashade Aliu said on Channels Television that the proposed bill, which also mentions Miyetti Allah groups, is unjust and malicious. She challenged the bill’s sponsors to present any proof they claim to have against Kwankwaso. Aliu questioned why one individual would be singled out in a country of over 260 million people on an issue as sensitive as religion and terrorism. She argued that the focus on Kwankwaso raises serious doubts about the true intent behind the legislative move. According to her, even a small fraction of Nigeria’s population in leadership positions would still amount to many people capable of offering solutions to national problems.
