The Nigerian Air Force has carried out fresh precision airstrikes on terrorist hideouts at Abbagajiri in the notorious Timbuktu Triangle area of Borno State. The operation was conducted under Operation Hadin Kai as part of wider joint efforts to weaken insurgent networks in the North East.
According to military sources, the strikes followed reliable multi source intelligence that confirmed active terrorist presence, fortified structures and hidden logistics hubs in the area. Identified buildings used for planning attacks and storing weapons were decisively engaged and destroyed, denying the terrorists freedom of movement.
Post strike assessments showed that several fighters were neutralised as they tried to flee or regroup after the initial bombardment. Ground troops then advanced into Abbagajiri and surrounding locations to clear remaining threats and secure the area.
The latest action builds on earlier coordinated air operations across the Timbuktu Triangle and other key corridors in the North East. Recent missions have targeted enclaves used for improvised explosive device production, logistics, and staging attacks on nearby communities and military positions.
Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke described the strikes as another major success for the air component of the Joint Task Force. He said the Nigerian Air Force remains committed to providing decisive air support to ground forces and denying terrorists any safe haven.
