Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has been named among the nominees for the Premier League Player of the Month award for March following an impressive run of form with Fulham. The 29-year-old featured in all four of Fulham’s league games during the month and played a key role in their positive results.
His standout display came in the 2-1 home win over Tottenham Hotspur, where he delivered a commanding performance capped by a well-taken goal. Over the period under review, Fulham recorded two wins and a draw from their four matches, boosting their push for a strong Premier League finish.
Iwobi faces stiff competition for the award from six other nominees: Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, Nottingham Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White and Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya. Also on the list are Everton midfielder James Garner, Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon and Brighton & Hove Albion striker Danny Welbeck.
Fans have until Monday, March 30, to cast their votes for the winner on the EA SPORTS website. The supporters’ votes will be combined with the verdict of a panel of football experts, with the eventual winner set to be announced next week.
