Kim Jong Un names daughter as heir

South Korea’s intelligence agency has informed lawmakers that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has selected his daughter, Kim Ju Ae, as his successor. The National Intelligence Service (NIS) said its assessment is based on multiple indicators, including her increasingly visible role at major state events. In recent months, Kim Ju Ae has appeared alongside her father at high-profile occasions, including military ceremonies and official visits abroad. Notably, she accompanied him to Beijing in September for her first known overseas trip. According to lawmaker Lee Seong-kwen, the NIS believes Kim Ju Ae has moved from being informally groomed to entering the stage of formal successor designation. Her repeated presence at key national events — such as the anniversary of the Korean People’s Army and visits to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun — as well as signs that she has […]

Netanyahu to urge Trump to widen Iran talks beyond nuclear issue

President Donald Trump will host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Wednesday, where Netanyahu is expected to push for broader US talks with Iran that go beyond its nuclear programme. He wants any agreement to also restrict Tehran’s ballistic missiles and its support for armed proxies such as Hamas and Hezbollah. This will be their seventh meeting since Trump returned to office just over a year ago, and it follows indirect US Iran talks in Oman last week. Trump has warned he could order strikes on Iran if there is no deal, while Tehran has vowed to retaliate, raising fears of a wider regional war. Trump told US media that a good agreement would mean no nuclear weapons and no missiles for Iran and said he is considering sending a second US aircraft carrier strike group […]

Poland Italy refuse to join Trump’s Board of Peace

Poland and Italy have said they will not join US President Donald Trump’s new Board of Peace under its current terms, adding to the list of Washington allies staying away from the initiative. The body was launched to support a Gaza ceasefire but is expected to take on a wider role in resolving global conflicts, raising concerns it could rival the United Nations. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told a government meeting that national doubts over the board’s design meant Warsaw would not participate for now. He said Poland would continue to analyse the proposal and stressed that relations with the United States remain a priority, adding that Warsaw does not rule out joining if circumstances change. Tusk noted that Russia and Belarus had been invited to the Board of Peace, a factor that has made many Western countries cautious. Arrest Made in Nancy Guthrie Case

Police have detained an individual in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of US television anchor Savannah Guthrie. The person was taken into custody during a traffic stop, according to sources familiar with the investigation who spoke to CBS News. Authorities are also conducting a court-approved search of a property in Rio Rico, south of Tucson, Arizona, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed. A woman identifying herself as the detainee’s mother-in-law told CBS that he had no connection to the case and accused authorities of unjustly searching her property. Trump Hosts Netanyahu Amid Iran Talks

US President Donald Trump is set to welcome Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House on Wednesday, amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and renewed diplomatic efforts to limit Iran’s nuclear programme. Netanyahu is expected to push for a comprehensive agreement that would stop Iran from enriching uranium and restrict its support for regional armed groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah. Before departing for Washington, he said he intended to outline Israel’s position on the principles guiding the negotiations. Tehran has maintained that it will not scale back uranium enrichment unless Western governments ease sanctions that have placed heavy pressure on its economy. This visit marks Netanyahu’s sixth trip to the United States since Trump returned to office, more than any other global leader during this period. The Israeli prime minister has consistently described Iran as a […]

Pressure Mounts on Andrew Over Epstein Case

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is under renewed pressure from US lawmakers and relatives of Virginia Giuffre to testify in the United States over his connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In an interview with the BBC, Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna criticized the Royal Family for what he described as a lack of transparency. He suggested it would be appropriate for Andrew to appear before US authorities. Fellow Democrat Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernandez went further, urging King Charles III to instruct his brother to travel to the US and answer questions before Congress. On Monday, Buckingham Palace signaled a willingness to cooperate with law enforcement. A spokesperson said the Royal Family stood “ready to support” police if formally approached. The statement added that the King had expressed “profound concern” over the allegations involving his brother and that both the King and Queen’s […]

Top Iranian adviser meets Oman as US talks near

A top adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader has held talks in Oman as Tehran and Washington prepare for a new round of negotiations aimed at avoiding fresh conflict. Oman hosted indirect talks between Iran and the United States last week, which Tehran says showed enough common ground to keep diplomacy alive. Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the discussions in Oman allowed Iran to gauge how serious the US is about reaching an agreement. He said Ali Larijani’s visit to Muscat was planned in advance and that the senior adviser would travel next to Qatar, another key Gulf mediator. The latest contacts come after President Donald Trump sent a US naval flotilla to the region, raising fears of possible military action against Iran. Trump had threatened to intervene during a bloody crackdown on nationwide protests in Iran last year but […]

Iran says Netanyahu’s US trip undermines nuclear talks

Iran has warned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the United States is aimed at undermining newly resumed nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington. Netanyahu left for Washington on Tuesday to meet US President Donald Trump and press for a tougher stance on Iran’s ballistic missile programme in upcoming negotiations. It is his seventh meeting with Trump since the US president returned to office, including a visit to Jerusalem in October 2025 after Trump announced a ceasefire in Gaza. Speaking at the airport, Netanyahu said he would discuss Gaza, wider regional issues and, above all, the negotiations with Iran. He promised to present Israel’s position on what he called the key principles that must guide the talks for the sake of peace and security in the Middle East. His office has said he will insist that any deal […]
