Wave Of US, Israeli Strikes Hit Key Iran Sites

United States and Israeli forces have carried out another wave of coordinated airstrikes on key targets inside Iran, hitting military, industrial and energy related sites. The latest attacks are part of a month long campaign designed to degrade Iran’s missile capabilities and defence industry. According to battlefield monitoring group ACLED, hundreds of strikes have now been recorded in at least 26 of Iran’s 31 provinces since the war escalated. Tehran, Isfahan and several western and southern regions have been among the hardest hit areas. An update from the Critical Threats Project said Israeli jets struck multiple missile and drone production facilities in Tehran on March 29. Targets included a Defence Ministry missile engine plant, a drone engine factory and an air defence storage and production site. US Central Command and the Israeli military have also focused heavily on Iran’s air […]

Iran Vows Defiance As Trump Threatens To Destroy Key Oil Island

Iran has vowed to remain defiant after United States President Donald Trump threatened to destroy one of its most important oil export islands. In fresh comments, Trump warned that Kharg Island and other energy facilities could be “completely obliterated” if Tehran does not quickly agree to a deal to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz to full traffic. Speaking on his Truth Social account, Trump said the US was in “serious discussions” with what he called a more reasonable regime in Tehran. But he added that if the talks fail or if the Hormuz Strait is not “open for business” immediately, Washington would blow up Iran’s electric plants, oil wells and Kharg Island, and possibly its desalination plants as well. Kharg Island handles about 90 percent of Iran’s crude oil exports and is seen as the backbone […]

Artemis II: US returns to deep space race

The United States is preparing for a historic return to deep space, with a new Moon mission that could carry major political, economic and strategic implications. Scheduled for launch this week, the Artemis II mission will send four astronauts farther into space than any human has travelled since the Apollo program era ended in 1972. Beyond its scientific goals, the mission arrives at a sensitive moment for Donald Trump, whose administration faces deep domestic divisions over foreign policy, immigration and economic pressures. A mission with political weight Although plans to return to the Moon predate Trump, his administration played a key role in shaping the Artemis programme during his first term. At the time, he emphasized ambitions extending to Mars and established the United States Space Force. In his current term, the focus has shifted back to the Moon. A […]

Russia Expels UK Diplomat Over Spying Allegations

Russia has expelled a British diplomat after accusing him of working as an undercover intelligence officer for the United Kingdom. The Russian Foreign Ministry said the official’s accreditation had been revoked and ordered him to leave the country within two weeks. In a statement, the ministry said Britain’s charge d’affaires in Moscow was summoned and given a formal protest. Russian authorities claimed they had received information from security agencies that the embassy staff member belonged to the UK’s intelligence services and was involved in activities that threatened Russia’s security. Russia’s Federal Security Service, FSB, alleged that the diplomat was effectively an undeclared spy, but did not provide public evidence to support the claim. Officials insisted the decision complied with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which allows a host country to declare diplomats persona non grata. The British government has […]

Iran Confirms Death Of Revolutionary Guards Navy Commander

Iran has officially confirmed the death of Alireza Tangsiri, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, days after an Israeli strike targeted a naval base in the south of the country. State media said he died from severe injuries sustained in the attack. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz had earlier announced that a precise air operation killed Tangsiri and several other senior naval officers. The strike reportedly hit facilities in the port city of Bandar Abbas, a key hub for Iran’s naval operations in the Strait of Hormuz. The United States Central Command later confirmed Tangsiri’s death in a statement. US officials accused him of overseeing years of harassment against merchant ships, attacks on vessels using drones and missiles, and operations that caused civilian deaths. Tangsiri had led the IRGC Navy since 2018 and was a central figure […]

Trump Says His Favourite Option In Iran War Is To Take The Country’s Oil

United States President Donald Trump has said his preferred option in the ongoing war with Iran would be for the US to take control of the country’s oil. He made the remark in a new interview with the Financial Times, offering one of his clearest signals yet about how he views Iran’s energy resources. To be honest with you, my favourite thing is to take the oil in Iran, Trump said, according to the report. He added that some people in the US questioned the idea, but dismissed them as stupid for doing so. Trump also floated the possibility of seizing Kharg Island, Iran’s main oil export hub in the Gulf. The coral island handles over 90 percent of Iran’s crude exports and is a critical node in the country’s energy infrastructure. Perhaps we take Kharg Island, perhaps we do […]

Israel restores church access after Palm Sunday row

Israel’s leadership has reversed course after a controversial incident involving access to one of Christianity’s holiest sites during a sensitive religious period. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa will now be granted “full and immediate access” to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, following earlier restrictions that prevented him from holding Palm Sunday Mass. The decision to block the cardinal had sparked widespread criticism internationally. The site, believed to mark the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, holds deep significance for Christians worldwide. According to Israeli authorities, the restriction was initially imposed due to security concerns. Netanyahu stated that the Old City of Jerusalem had been under threat from missile attacks linked to Iran, and limiting access to religious sites was intended to protect worshippers. However, the move drew sharp reactions. Mike Huckabee described the […]
