GNFS Gives Osu Businesses One-Week Fire Safety Ultimatum

The Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, Daniella Mawusi Ntow, has issued a one-week ultimatum to selected institutions in Accra to fully comply with fire safety regulations. The affected facilities include Total Energies, Ecobank, and Papaye, all located in the Osu area. Officer Ntow said compliance officers will return after one week to conduct follow-up inspections to verify that all required safety measures have been implemented. The directive is part of a surprise fire safety enforcement exercise being carried out by the GNFS across parts of Accra ahead of the rollout of the government’s 24-hour Economy initiative. Ghana Police Arrest Four in Tamale Drug Crackdown, Seize Opioids

The Ghana Police Service has intensified its fight against drug trafficking in the Tamale Metropolis, arresting four suspects and seizing significant quantities of illicit substances during a special operation. Ghana Recovers Over $15 Million from International Crypto Fraud Network – Attorney General

Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine has announced that Ghana has successfully recovered more than 15 million dollars from an international organised online crime syndicate that defrauded citizens through cryptocurrency schemes. Speaking at the Government’s Accountability Series on Thursday, Dr. Ayine praised the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and other investigative agencies for their coordinated efforts in protecting Ghana’s financial system. EOCO Exceeds 2025 Recovery Target, Recovers GH₵337.4 Million – Attorney General

Minister for Justice and Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has praised the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for exceeding its financial recovery target for 2025 by a wide margin. Speaking to the press on Thursday, December 18, Dr. Ayine revealed that EOCO has recovered GH₵337.4 million, far above its initial target of GH₵200 million for the year. According to the Attorney General, the achievement represents the highest recovery figure in EOCO’s history. He attributed the success largely to strong institutional leadership and effective management within the agency. “EOCO has exceeded its 2025 target by more than GH₵133.4 million. Kasoa man in critical condition after mob attack over alleged refrigerator theft

A man believed to be in his late 30s is in critical condition at the Kasoa Polyclinic after he was allegedly assaulted by a mob over a suspected theft incident at Kasoa Walantu Junction in the Awutu Senya East Municipality. According to eyewitness accounts, the man was caught while attempting to remove the motor from a refrigerator that had been brought to a repair shop in the area. Interior Ministry Denies Assassination Claims on Kissi Agyebeng

The Interior Ministry has denied claims of any assassination attempt on Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, saying it has no record or report of such an incident. The response follows a statement from the Office of the Special Prosecutor, which alleged that Mr Agyebeng had survived two assassination attempts while carrying out his duties. Apostolic Church Ghana Dedicates New TAC Tower in Accra

The Apostolic Church Ghana has dedicated its new headquarters, TAC Tower, located in Madina, Accra. Five Suspected Armed Robbers Arrested in Sefwi Bekwai

Police in the Western North Region have arrested five suspected armed robbers believed to be responsible for a string of attacks in Sefwi Bekwai and nearby communities. Former Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Dr Kwabena Bempah Tandoh, has explained why some SHS students are made to repeat a year, saying the practice is part of a structured educational process, not a punishment.
