On April 1, 2025, Big Akwes criticized Cina Soul’s choice of wearing a crop top and baggy pants, claiming it didn’t align with her brand and even making derogatory comments about her appearance.
Cina Soul, clearly frustrated by the remarks, took to social media to express her disappointment. She revealed how much time and money she had invested into promoting her album, only to be criticized for her clothing. In her post, she emphasized her desire to focus on making music, rather than being judged for her outfit choices.
Many in the Ghanaian entertainment industry, including stars like Efya Odo, S3fa, and Ama Burland, have come out in support of Cina Soul, condemning Big Akwes’ comments. The backlash led Max TV to issue a public apology to the artist on April 2, 2025.
