EC postpones District Assembly and Unit Committee by-elections

The Electoral Commission has postponed the District Assembly and Unit Committee by-elections that were supposed to take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. In a statement released on November 3, 2025, the Commission said the elections have been suspended until further notice. It did not explain the reason for the delay but assured the public that a new date will be announced soon. GNAT President links rising basic school exam failures to politics and delayed capitation grants

The President of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Rev. Isaac Owusu, says the growing rate of exam failures among basic school pupils is tied to the heavy politicisation of education and persistent delays in releasing the capitation grant. UEW Chancellor demands stronger action against illegal mining after Ayensu River pollution

The Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Neenyi Ghartey VII, has renewed his call for stronger action against illegal miners whose activities have heavily polluted the Ayensu River, the main water source for the Agona Kwanyarko treatment plant. WAEC links sharp decline in 2025 WASSCE Core Mathematics results to student skill gaps

The Head of Public Relations at the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), John Kapi, says the steep drop in Core Mathematics performance in the 2025 WASSCE is linked to clear skill gaps among candidates. Tamale High Court Annuls Kpandai Parliamentary Election Results

The Tamale High Court has nullified the parliamentary election results for the Kpandai constituency and instructed the Electoral Commission to conduct a fresh poll within 30 days. The ruling was delivered by Justice Emmanuel Brew Plange after a successful petition challenging the credibility of the December 7, 2024 election.
