11 Terrorist Aides Arrested in Borno – DHQ
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that troops have arrested 11 people suspected of supplying and supporting terrorists in Borno State .
The arrests happened between June 11 and June 20, 2025 , during a series of coordinated operations.
Major General Markus Kangye , Director of Defence Media Operations, shared this update in a statement released on Friday.
He also revealed that four hostages were rescued during the same period.
Over N250 Million Worth of Loot Recovered
General Kangye said soldiers recovered stolen goods worth over ₦250 million from the suspects during the week-long operation.
They also seized:
- Arms and ammunition
- Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)
- Motorcycles and bicycles
- Mobile phones and vehicles
These items were taken from terror operatives and their local supporters.
Terrorists Surrender, Hostages Freed
Between June 12 and 19 , some terrorists—including adult males, females, and children—surrendered to Nigerian troops .
This shows growing pressure on terror groups in the region.
In several areas, including Konduga, Kukawa, Gwoza, Ngala, Kala Balge, Bama , and Maiduguri , troops launched offensive actions against terror cells.
During these operations:
- Some terrorists were killed
- Others were arrested
- Two hostages were freed
Targeting Logistics Behind Terror Networks
Security forces also moved against those providing logistical support to terrorists.
From June 11–16 , seven suspects linked to terror supply lines were arrested in Kaga, Gwoza, Biu , and Ngala .
Items recovered included:
- One vehicle
- Motorcycles
- Mobile phones
- Bicycles
These tools are often used by insurgents to move arms, spread fear, and carry out attacks.
Continued Offensive in Dikwa, Kukawa, Bama LGAs
Troops responded to reports of terror activities in Dikwa, Kukawa, Ngala , and Bama between June 12 and 17 .
During these missions, security operatives killed more terrorists and rescued two additional hostages .
These efforts reflect ongoing progress in the fight against insurgency in North-east Nigeria.
