The Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS) has emphasised the critical role of biomedical laboratory scientists in promoting sustainability in clinical testing.  At the International Medical Laboratory Science Day celebration in Accra, President of GAMLS, Dr Eric Kofi Aidoo, highlighted the indispensable role of laboratory professionals in effective healthcare delivery. Passport fee reduction to take effect after Parliamentary approval – Minister

Although the government had announced a 30 per cent cut in the cost of an ordinary passport, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, clarified in a Facebook post that the new fee will only take effect when Parliament reconvenes. The revised fee is part of a broader set of passport reforms scheduled to begin on Monday, April 28, 2025, but the price change remains subject to legislative approval. Chief Justice Torkornoo: Names of petitioners, full allegations and her official responses leak online

This is coming a day after Chief Justice Torkornoo was suspended from office, following the establishment of a prima facie case, paving the way for a full inquiry. President John Dramani Mahama has set up a 5-member committee to handle the inquiry. There is no time frame on when the inquiry should be completed.
