Kofi Koranteng Criticizes Ghana’s 8th Parliament as ‘Most Useless’ in History.
Independent presidential candidate Kofi Koranteng has voiced strong criticism of Ghana’s 8th Parliament, calling it the “most useless” the country has ever had. Speaking on Joy News’ AM Show, Koranteng argued that the current Parliament has failed to serve the Ghanaian people effectively, stating, "They haven’t positioned themselves to serve Ghanaians."Koranteng’s comments followed a Supreme Court ruling on the Speaker’s declaration of vacant seats, which the Court ruled invalid on Tuesday. The declaration concerned four MPs who had planned to run as independent candidates, sparking a legal dispute led by Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin.Koranteng questioned Parliament’s impact, asserting, "Tell me, how have Ghanaians benefited from this Parliament?" His remarks reflect growing concerns over political accountability as Ghana approaches the 2024 elections.
