Six injured in violent attack over land dispute at Domeabra

Six people have been injured in a violent land dispute between residents of Danchira and Domeabra in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. The conflict, which began on the evening of Tuesday, April 22, escalated at the outskirts of the Domeabra community with gunshots fired, leaving several individuals injured. Some of the victims received initial treatment at a local health facility before being transferred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC). The following afternoon, a reprisal attack at the same location resulted in four more people sustaining machete wounds. Passport fee reduction to take effect after Parliamentary approval – Minister

Although the government had announced a 30 per cent cut in the cost of an ordinary passport, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, clarified in a Facebook post that the new fee will only take effect when Parliament reconvenes. The revised fee is part of a broader set of passport reforms scheduled to begin on Monday, April 28, 2025, but the price change remains subject to legislative approval. Mr Ablakwa had earlier informed Parliament on March 13, 2025, that the reduction was in response to public concerns over affordability. China sends Boeing planes back to US over tariffs
