Iwobi suffers hamstring scare in Fulham draw with Brentford

Alex Iwobi picked up an injury scare in Fulham’s goalless London derby draw with Brentford on Saturday.​ The Super Eagles midfielder limped off shortly before half time after feeling discomfort in his hamstring. He was replaced by his Nigerian international teammate Samuel Chukwueze.​ Fulham head coach Marco Silva has however moved to calm fears of a serious problem. After the match, he indicated that the initial assessment suggested the injury was not severe.​ The game marked Iwobi’s 255th Premier League start, underlining his experience and importance at this level. Trump accuses Iran of breaching ceasefire in Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of violating the two week ceasefire between both countries with fresh attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.​ In a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, Trump said US negotiators would return to Pakistan on Monday to resume talks aimed at ending the war with Iran. Iran says a final peace agreement with the United States is still far away as the Strait of Hormuz remains closed in the ongoing standoff.​ Parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said in a televised address that there has been some progress in talks with Washington but many gaps and fundamental issues remain unresolved. SSANU rejects fake 30 percent deal issues strike ultimatum

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities has dismissed claims that it has reached a wage agreement with the Federal Government and has reaffirmed its threat to begin an indefinite strike from April 30 if talks are not concluded.​ In a communiqué issued after a Special National Executive Council meeting held on April 18 in Abuja, the union said renegotiation of its agreement with government is still ongoing despite seven meetings since October 2024. NDLEA busts syndicate hiding cocaine and loud in food flasks to UK

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has uncovered a drug trafficking syndicate that hid cocaine and loud in food flasks and snack packs for shipment to the United Kingdom and Nigeria.​ The agency said its officers at the export shed of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, intercepted 12 large parcels of cocaine concealed in the false bottom of food flasks on April 9. The consignment, weighing 2.80 kilograms, was destined for the UK on a Virgin Atlantic flight.​ Two cargo agents, Ama Obinna Ufeim, 33, and Ogabi Monday Akorede, 39, were arrested at the airport.
