The decision comes just two months after Israel and the United States carried out airstrikes against Iran. In a statement published on its official website, Germany’s Foreign Ministry warned that Iranian authorities had repeatedly threatened consequences over the sanctions push. “As Iranian government representatives have repeatedly threatened with consequences in this case, it cannot be ruled out that German interests and nationals will be affected by countermeasures in Iran,” the ministry said. Arsenal eye Anfield win as Man Utd, West Ham face pressure

The Premier League enters another dramatic weekend with heavyweight clashes and mounting pressure on several managers. Arsenal chase first Anfield win in 12 yearsLiverpool and Arsenal, last season’s top two, meet at Anfield in a match that could shape the early title race. Both clubs spent heavily this summer, investing a combined £550 million to strengthen their squads. Arne Slot’s Liverpool remain unpredictable. Still, with attacking talents across the pitch, they remain dangerous. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, in contrast, have relied on defensive discipline, starting the campaign without conceding. New signing Viktor Gyökeres scored twice in last week’s 5-0 win over Leeds, while Eberechi Eze could debut on Sunday. The Gunners have not lost against any of England’s […]

A Child’s Cry: Nigeria’s Malnutrition Crisis Demands Urgent Action

On a sweltering afternoon in Katsina, Fatima cradles her two-year-old son, Musa, in a crowded therapeutic feeding centre. His frail body, barely clinging to life, tells a story that words cannot. Musa is one of millions of Nigerian children facing the brutal reality of severe acute malnutrition—a condition that makes a child 9–12 times more likely to die than if they were well nourished. But Musa is also a symbol of hope. With timely treatment, he is slowly recovering. His story reminds us that malnutrition is not a death sentence—it is a preventable tragedy. A Nation at Breaking Point According to the March 2025 Cadre Harmonisé food security survey, nearly 31 million Nigerians across 26 states and the FCT face acute food insecurity. Extrapolated nationwide, this number could reach 40 million people—a population larger than many countries. Nigeria now bears […]

Israel Army Declares Gaza City ‘A Dangerous Combat Zone’

The Israeli military on Friday declared Gaza City a “dangerous combat zone” as it prepared for a full-scale assault on the Palestinian territory’s largest urban center after nearly two years of war. “Starting today (Friday) at 10:00 (0700 GMT), the local tactical pause in military activity will not apply to the area of Gaza City, which constitutes a dangerous combat zone,” the army said in a statement, referring to daily pauses introduced in certain areas to allow humanitarian aid delivery. Although the statement did not issue an immediate evacuation order, the army’s Arabic-language spokesman, Avichay Adraee, said earlier in the week that Gaza City’s evacuation was “inevitable.” The UN estimates nearly one million people currently live in Gaza governorate, which includes Gaza City and its surrounding areas in the north. AFP images on Thursday showed Palestinians fleeing south in vehicles […]
