The Nigerian Army has commended Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda for renovating and remodelling 12 ensuite family quarters at the Corporal Below Quarters in Natsinta Army Barracks. Radda commissioned the project during Christmas celebrations with Christian communities in the barracks.
The governor praised the 17 Brigade for its role in securing lives and property, crediting their dedication for the relative peace in Katsina. He highlighted the strong partnership between the state government and security agencies as key to recent successes.
Radda thanked military families for their support, saying soldiers’ commitment depends on backing from loved ones. He renewed condolences to families of personnel killed in the line of duty and donated ₦10 million to Christian families in the barracks as a festive gesture.
Brigadier General B.O. Omopariola, 17 Brigade Commander, thanked Radda for funding the welfare project. He said it improves living standards for troops and families, aligning with the Chief of Army Staff’s vision for a professional, combat-ready force.
Omopariola urged occupants to maintain the facilities and stay dedicated. Radda also visited Christian leaders statewide, reaffirming his inclusive governance that unites citizens across faiths.
