Young Thug Fires Shots at ‘Snitch’ Rappers – Fans Point to Gunna

Young Thug Sends Sharp Message to “Snitch” Rappers

Tensions between Young Thug and Gunna are flaring up again, this time after a cryptic message from Thug directed at rappers with legal issues .

On July 7, 2025 , he posted on X (formerly Twitter) :

“If u a rapper and u a rat, u gotta just go gospel twin.”

The message quickly went viral, with many fans reading it as yet another indirect shot at Gunna , especially in light of past events tied to the YSL RICO case .

This isn’t the first time Thug has used such language—his recent track “Money On Money” with Future includes lines like:

  • “Brother, you a rat.”
  • “Twin, you a rat, you smoked.”

Though no names were mentioned, fans believe these lyrics—and now his tweet—are referencing Gunna’s decision to take an Alford plea deal in late 2022 , which allowed him to avoid trial while securing early release from jail.

Gunna Absent From Thug’s Projects Since 2022

After years of collaboration, Gunna’s name vanished from Young Thug’s 2023 album, Business Is Business .

Fans noticed the silence growing louder when Thug recently performed at the 2025 Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash .

During a live performance of the hit song “Ski” , where he originally rapped:

“Bih got a backwood on her nightstand, she must be fkin’ with Gunna,”

He avoided the line completely and muted Gunna’s name in the backing track—another sign that their bond remains broken.

Thug publicly distanced himself from Gunna after the latter’s 2022 plea agreement , fueling widespread belief that he felt betrayed by Gunna’s move.

Reconciliation Hints That Never Materialized

In late 2024, after Thug entered his own guilty plea, he requested permission to reconnect and collaborate with Gunna.

That raised hopes of a reunion among fans and followers of the YSL legacy .

But so far, there’s been no real reconciliation—only growing distance and lyrical shade.

FG, evacuees slam South Africa over xenophobia, documentation claims

The Federal Government and Nigerian evacuees from South Africa have faulted claims by the South African authorities that many of those repatriated lacked proper documentation, insisting Pretoria frustrated efforts to renew their papers. Some returnees accused the South African government of deliberately delaying or denying renewal of work permits and other legal documents to create grounds to label them undocumented and justify a clampdown. The first batch of over 200 Nigerians fleeing renewed xenophobic attacks arrived in Lagos aboard an Air Peace flight fully funded by the Federal Government, with officials from NEMA, Immigration, NiDCOM and FAAN on ground for profiling and support. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, more than 1,000 Nigerians have been screened and cleared for evacuation after a citizen‑led group in South Africa ordered all undocumented foreign nationals to leave by June 30, heightening fears […]
