West Ham United have turned down the chance to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana on loan, according to reports from The Guardian.
The Hammers are in search of a new goalkeeper after summer signing Mads Hermansen, brought in from Leicester City, failed to impress in his early games. However, the club does not see Onana, who has lost his place at Old Trafford, as an upgrade on their current options.
Onana, 29, was dropped by United manager Ruben Amorim this season, with Altay Bayindir preferred as first-choice. Although he returned for United’s Carabao Cup clash against Grimsby Town, he struggled again—misjudging a cross for the Mariners’ second goal. United went on to suffer a shock exit, losing 12-11 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
West Ham remain focused on other targets. The club is in talks with Hull City goalkeeper Ivor Pandur and has also revived its interest in Botafogo’s John Victor, with whom they had already reached an agreement in principle during the summer.
Manager Graham Potter is under mounting pressure to fix the team’s goalkeeping problems. Hermansen has conceded eight goals in just two league appearances, while backup Alphonse Areola also disappointed in a 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says a 33 year old businessman has excreted 45 wraps of cocaine after he was intercepted on a commercial bus in Oyo State, just as operatives seized a fresh consignment of the terror drug Captagon and other hard drugs in Kwara and several other states.
