Henry Herbert Malm appointed Acting Director of National Theatre

MahamaCares fund to support specialist care for younger Ghanaians living with chronic diseases

The Minister for Health, Mr Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has announced that the newly launched Ghana Medical Trust Fund also referred to as the MahamaCares initiative, will prioritise specialist care for Ghanaians aged 18 to 45, the age group most affected by chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Six dead in Adansi Dompoase crash involving VIP bus and sprinter

In a statement issued by the Ashanti Region Public Relations Office, the GNFS said it received a distress call at 12:43 pm and swiftly dispatched a rescue team to the scene. The rescue operation, led by ADOII Samuel Mensah, found a VIP bus (registration GW 8455-23) and a Benz Sprinter (registration GS 6383-20) involved in the collision. According to the GNFS, the Sprinter was completely mangled from the rear, while the VIP bus sustained partial damage to its front. The statement added that rescue operations were completed by 1:28 pm, with six deceased victims handed over to the Police. One injured person was transported to the Fomena Government Hospital for emergency treatment. The cause of the accident, the GNFS noted, remains under investigation.
