NEMA leads rescue after Abuja–Kaduna train derailment
The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Zubaida Umar, on Tuesday, led a rescue team to the site of a train derailment along the Abuja–Kaduna rail line near the Idda sub-station in Kaduna State. The incident, which occurred around 11:00 a.m., left seven passengers injured. Officials confirmed that no lives were lost. Victims received first aid at the scene before being transferred to a hospital for further treatment. The rescue operation was jointly carried out by NEMA officials, the Nigerian military, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
