Defence Ministry Vows Open Probe into Ashanti Crash

The Ministry of Defence has pledged a full, transparent investigation into the August 6 helicopter crash in Adansi Akrofuom, Ashanti Region, that claimed eight lives, including Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah. Speaking to traditional leaders in Accra on August 13, Deputy Defence Minister Brogya Genfi said the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) had commenced investigations and sought international collaboration to ensure the credibility of the process. “We have received a positive response to our request for international support. Nothing will be covered up—the process will be transparent, and the public will know exactly what happened and the cause of this tragic accident,” Mr. Genfi assured.
