Govt Launches Youth Internship Scheme for Security Agencies
On July 14, 2025, Ghana’s Ministry of the Interior, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Development, officially launched a Youth Internship Scheme aimed at enhancing the employability of Ghanaian youth and reinforcing manpower within key security agencies—namely the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, and Ghana National Fire Service. The first batch is set to begin on July 16, 2025. Scheme Objectives Workforce Readiness: Equip young people with practical, on-the-job experience to bridge the gap between academia and employment. Agency Reinforcement: Strengthen capacity across security services by supplementing personnel through intern deployment.
