Mahama Announces Buipe Inland Port & Regional Development Plans
The Buipe Inland Port in Ghana’s Savannah Region is set to be fully operational and integrated into the national transportation strategy, President John Dramani Mahama announced during a courtesy call by Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I, Overlord of Gonjaland. The move aims to position the region as a gateway to the Sahel, boosting logistics, regional trade, and reducing transport costs. Integrated into a broader development agenda, the President also revealed plans to build a modern sports stadium, launch a region-specific youth employment plan aligned with the national 24-Hour Economy, and establish skills training centres and youth agribusiness cooperatives in the newly created regions.
