Ghana Confirms Monkeypox Case in Western North, 230 Suspected Cases Under Investigation.

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed a monkeypox case in a 15-year-old male from the Bia West District, Western North Region. The boy sought treatment on September 25, 2024, showing symptoms including fever, sore throat, and a rash on his face and palms.In response, 25 individuals who had contact with the patient are under observation. Additionally, 230 suspected cases have been reported across 88 districts nationwide. GHS is conducting investigations and will notify the World Health Organization (WHO). Citizens are urged to stay alert and adhere to preventive health measures.
