Four Dead at Wenchi Shelter Camp Following Gbenyir Conflict
Four people, including three women and a teenage girl, have been confirmed dead at a shelter camp in Wenchi, Bono Region, following the recent Gbenyir conflict. Camp sources reported that two of the deceased fell ill and were taken to Wenchi Hospital, where they later passed away while receiving treatment. The teenage girl was said to have died inside the camp, while the fourth victim, a woman in her early 90s, was sent back to her home community of Gbongbon in the Bole District. She died two days after her return. Though medical causes have not been confirmed, residents in the camp believe the deaths may be linked to harsh weather conditions and poor health care.
