BECE Not Credible, Ghana Christian High Dropped It Over a Decade Ago: Prof. Stephen Adei
Renowned educationist Prof. Stephen Adei has revealed that his school, Ghana Christian International High School, stopped using the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) more than a decade ago as an admission requirement because of credibility concerns. Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show during a discussion on the Hotline Documentary: Dark World of BECE, Prof. Adei said the decision was driven by widespread cheating and malpractice. “For 11 years, Ghana Christian International High School in Accra has not used BECE as an entrance requirement because we don’t trust them,” he stated. He noted that although WAEC continues to introduce measures such as monitoring teams, arrests, and cancellation of results, the efforts remain inadequate.
