Zelensky to Press Slovak PM on Russian Oil Imports
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he will raise the issue of Russian oil supplies to Europe during a meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on Friday. Fico, who has been openly critical of Zelensky and recently met Russian President Vladimir Putin in China, is expected to arrive in the western Ukrainian city of Uzhgorod later in the day. The European Union banned most Russian oil imports after Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. However, Slovakia and Hungary received exemptions to allow time to secure alternative supplies.
