Nigerians Split Over Charlie Kirk’s Assassination

Nigerians have expressed mixed reactions to the assassination of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot dead on September 10, 2025, during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University, Orem, Utah. The 31-year-old co-founder of Turning Point USA was addressing mass shootings in the U.S. when a gunman, identified as Tyler Robinson, shot him in the neck. The incident cut short what was meant to be the first stop of Kirk’s American comeback tour. Kirk was widely known for his controversial views on race, religion, and politics.
