Trump renews Greenland push, warns Cuba, Colombia, Mexico
US President Donald Trump has again set his sights on Greenland after ordering military action in Venezuela, saying the United States “needs” the Arctic territory for national security and accusing Denmark of being unable to protect it. He framed Greenland as strategically vital due to its location and rising great power competition in the Arctic, repeating his desire to bring the largely autonomous Danish territory under US control. Trump also issued sharp threats against left leaning governments in Latin America, particularly Colombia and Cuba, following the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
