The United States government has defended its recent revocation of valid visas issued to Nigerians, describing the move as a national security measure. This comes as the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria issued a fresh security alert on Tuesday, warning American citizens against unnecessary travel to military and government facilities, particularly in Abuja. Reports earlier in the week revealed that dozens of Nigerians — including students, business professionals, frequent travelers, and families — had their visas revoked without prior notice.
