Too bad I’m not allowed to run for third term – Trump
US President Donald Trump has acknowledged that he cannot seek a third term in office, saying the US Constitution bars him from doing so despite growing calls from supporters for another run in 2028. Speaking aboard Air Force One on Wednesday, Trump said, “I have my highest poll numbers that I’ve ever had and, you know, based on what I read, I guess I’m not allowed to run, so we’ll see what happens… It’s too bad.” The US Constitution’s 22nd Amendment limits presidents to two terms. Trump, who returned to the White House in January, is now serving his second term after his first stint from 2017 to 2021.
